Relaxing two bedroom house set in lush natural surroundings with a beautiful view over the lake and mountains. Just a short distance from Sankampaeng Hot Springs and close to Mae Kampong village and waterfall, this modern trendy house has all the comforts, in a convenient location just 30 minutes from downtown Chiang Mai.
The space
Stylish open living area, with fully equipped kitchen, and views out onto the lake and natural surroundings. Two bedrooms each with separate bathrooms including Kohler fittings. Ensuite bathroom attached to main bedroom has nice views onto garden. Huge open deck provides a lovely spot for meals overlooking the lake, or just lounging with a book. Kitchen includes three ring gas stove, proper oven, Krupps cappuccino machine, large fridge, washing machine. Wifi is available throughout the house, and a large flatscreen TV includes cable TV channels. DVD and CD player, with a range of DVDs to watch. Bring your CDs if you want to listen to music!
The house is well provided with basic provisions. Cooking ingredients (salt, pepper, sugar, cooking oil, olive oil, tomato sauce etc) in the kitchen. Shampoo, conditioner and soap in the bathrooms and washing up powder for the washing machine.
King sized bed in main bedroom. Second bedroom can be set as twin or king sized bed. Two comfortable double sofa beds means house can take up to 8 people. The house is family friendly, with a high chair, kid’s toys and games.
The area of Mae On is a popular place for visitors, with the public Sankampaeng Hot springs and three private hot springs with both private indoor and outdoor natural hot spring pools, herbal baths and massage. There is also an outdoor swimming pool at one of the private hot springs. The nearby Mae On mountain and caves are good for some exercise and offer stunning sunset options from the top. The area is also popular for rock climbing. Further up into the mountains is Mae Kampong Village, an attractive old township of wooden building nestled in the valley with nice places for coffee and food. The nearby Mae Kampong waterfall and some hiking trails are good options for some activity. On the way to the village is the Royal Project coffee shop which has nice seating looking down onto the stream and a good place for coffee and cake. Flight of the Gibbons, The Giant are popular tourist activities up in the same valley. For those who enjoy their golf, the Highland Golf Club is one of Chiang Mai’s best golf courses in the area and just a couple of kilometers away from the house.
There are a few options for eating out in the area, and for buying food either ready cooked or fresh to cook and eat at home. Cheap daily local market has good options of meats, fruit and vegetables.
It takes only 30 minutes to get to Mae On from Chiang Mai airport or downtown Chiang Mai. You can get here either by car or taxi, and public buses also run to the market nearby. I can arrange a taxi if you need it. To get around locally we have bicycles and we can also arrange a motorbike for you rent.
