Positive: This hotel is UNREAL. Impeccably clean, modern decor with a slightly industrial vibe, and so many thoughtful details- like selecting your handmade breakfast plate and learning about the artist who made it. But the biggest draw is definitely the view and location! We were lucky enough to get the top floor with a view of Kyoto's iconic Hōkan-ji Temple, which also means you're in a perfect spot to see and photograph it early or late without the crowds. A bus stop is just a few minutes walk away, and the best ramen spot in the city is also at the bottom of the same hill. Every employee we met was kind and thoughtful, and they helped us get our bags up to the top floor and with baggage forwarding. There's also laundry machines in the basement (which were much-needed after 5 weeks traveling) and a cute coffee stand out front— we didn't get to try it, but it's one of our many excuses to come back again!

Negative: Not an issue for us (thankfully the lovely staff helped with getting our massive suitcases all the way to the top floor) but just worth knowing! This hotel does not have a lift/elevator, so the upper floors are not accessible.
