Then you have found the perfect holiday home in the pretty townhouse Jaume II. It is located in Llucmajor in the south of Mallorca, in a typical residential area. Behind the house you have an oasis: on the plot you will not only find a sloping pool with sun loungers and parasols, an outdoor bathroom, a kitchen and a shower, but also a large, sunny terrace area with various seating options, some of them under trees. Right next to the house is the dining table, where you can serve delicacies from the barbecue. To the side of the pool, surrounded by natural stone walls, you can settle down on comfortable lounge furniture for a siesta.
Large windows let in light and the atmosphere is characterised by vaulted stone ceilings in some rooms, while dark wooden beams are visible in others. As soon as you enter the house, you will immediately feel like a Spanish king - antique furniture, some elaborately carved and decorated with inlays, and oil paintings in gold frames exude a luxurious atmosphere. Despite the interior design, some of which is steeped in history, the house is by no means old-fashioned - on the contrary. Old and new have been tastefully and skilfully combined here. The two bathrooms, for example one en-suite on the ground floor and one on the upper floor, are very chic and modern and almost puristically tiled with natural stone. The kitchen on the ground floor is also deliberately kept simple, a nice contrast to the old, stylish furniture found in the other rooms. There is even space for a piano in the spacious entrance area. There are also two dining rooms and a living room with a wonderfully large sofa and a view outside. The ground and upper floors have a total of three bedrooms, all with impressive, almost majestic wooden beds, one of which even has a fireplace.
You can take relaxing walks around the house through the neighbourhood and into the rural surroundings. Llucmajor, picturesquely surrounded by apricot and almond groves, once made a name for itself as an industrial centre. The town became particularly famous for the manufacture of shoes, but to this day tourism is not the focus, which accounts for much of its charm. If you stroll through the streets of the city, you will not only find everything you need for daily life, but also a few historic buildings such as the town hall Placa d'Espanya, the 18th century church of San Miguel in Placa Santa Catalina Tomas, the baroque monastery of San Bonaventura, the shoemaker monument at the western city gate and the monument to Jaime III. The weekly market takes place every Sunday. For a trip to the beach, you can take the road that can be heard from time to time from your house, 13.7 kilometres to S'Arenal. Here you will find fine, white sand, shady palm trees and a lively promenade. Jaume II is a beautiful, historic and stylishly renovated townhouse in the south of the island. Thanks to its central location, you can easily reach shops and restaurants on foot and still enjoy a spacious terrace area surrounded by rustic natural stone walls and mature trees, as well as a sloping pool and an outdoor kitchen.
