Summary: Property was very well maintained and the owners were extremely kind. The onsens were great, and a traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast were included in the stay. The two main aspects I didn’t love about the stay were the beds and transportation to and from the hotel. Maybe I missed it or it wasn’t super clear in the description, but our twin beds were more like thin mattress pads and were super uncomfortable. I don’t think every room is like this, so verify with the pictures and descriptions. For the transportation to and from the main train station, there’s a poorly timed bus that doesn’t adhere to the bus schedule at all (granted, they delays are probably caused by tourists not knowing how Japan buses work). If you plan to stay in this area in general, expect another 1.5 hours of travel from the train station due to waiting for the bus and taking the bus.
